Program Staff

Amber Graham – Program Director 

South Florida native Amber Graham joined Mothers’ Voices in 1998.  As Program Director, she designs community programs and recruits participants as part of  Mothers’ Voices grassroots approach to mobilize parents as educators and advocates for their children about sexual health and HIV/AIDS preventon.  Amber has a Master of Public Health degree from Boston University and has been involved in HIV/AIDS education since her days as an undergraduate at the University of Florida when a close friend was diagnosed with the disease. 

Prior to joining Mothers’ Voices, Amber was the Parent-Teen AIDS Prevention Project Coordinator for Health Crisis Network, one of the nation’s oldest and largest AIDS service organizations, where she implemented an adolescent and HIV/AIDS peer education and leadership program. 

Dedra Brown- Peer Educator

Dedra Brown is an African American HIV+ mother of four. She completed the Mothers’ Voices Peer Educator Training in 2004 and has conducted Mothers’ Voices Raising Healthy Kids seminars as well as the Family Communication Series for participants in at-risk communities.

Dedra is a native Miamian who knows first hand the hardships of living in a disadvantaged community and dealing with the stifmas associated with being infected by HIV. Her ability to relate to program participants and empathize with the difficulties they encounter, make her an ideal facilitator.

Additionally, Ms. Brown is currently an AIDS Alliance Peer Educator and has attended the United States Conference on AIDS
